Course Overview
This course discusses the complications and diagnostic approaches related to ischemic steal syndrome in hemodialysis access patients. The content emphasizes noninvasive diagnostic methods such as photoplethysmography and duplex ultrasound, surgical treatment options including distal revascularization and interval ligation (DRIL), and the importance of early detection to prevent severe ischemic outcomes. The course also highlights the differentiation between ischemic steal syndrome and ischemic monomelic neuropathy (IMN), emphasizing accurate diagnosis for effective treatment.
