Course Overview

This course explains the updated consensus for interpreting arterial and venous Doppler waveforms, standardizing terminology for improved accuracy in diagnosing vascular diseases.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Identify the difference between the prior nomenclature and the consensus approved nomenclature

  • Evaluate and describe an arterial and venous Doppler waveform using the standardized consensus nomenclature.

  • Evaluate the Doppler waveform characteristics of an arterial and venous Doppler Waveform.

  • Be able to reduce confusing terminology in evaluation and interpretation of arterial and venous Doppler waveforms.

Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
