Course Overview

This comprehensive course discusses the utility of duplex ultrasound in diagnosing and troubleshooting arteriovenous fistulas (AVFs) and grafts (AVGs) used for hemodialysis access. The content covers common issues, diagnostic criteria, and interventions to ensure effective dialysis access and patient care.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Recognize modes of failure of AVF/AVG

  • Describe duplex characteristics of malfunctioning AVF/AVG

  • Understand controversies in utilizing AVF/AVG for surveillance
