Course Overview

Gain essential skills in sonographic evaluation of TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts), including placement indications, technique, malfunction detection, and complications. Learn how to assess stent grafts, evaluate velocities, and identify stenosis and other issues to improve patient outcomes. Key for those involved in liver disease management.

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • discuss the indications for TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) placement

  • sonographic technique

  • findings of TIPS malfunction and complications
