Course Overview

An Introduction to Cerebrovascular Disease explores the role of duplex ultrasonography in diagnosing carotid and vertebral stenosis, providing key insights into identifying and managing cerebrovascular disease to improve patient outcomes and reduce stroke risk.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Describe normal duplex imaging for extracranial carotid artery distributions

  • Describe basic assessment and criteria for carotid artery stenosis


Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
