Course Overview

This course covers advanced techniques in carotid and cerebrovascular duplex imaging, focusing on both atherosclerotic and non-atherosclerotic diseases. Learn about plaque morphology, carotid occlusion, dissection, pseudoaneurysms, arteriovenous fistulas, and carotid body tumors. Enhance your skills in diagnosing complex cerebrovascular conditions.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Describe qualitative methods of assessing severity of carotid plaque.

  • Identify imaging abnormalities caused by non-atherosclerotic carotid disease.


Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
