Course Overview

This CME course provides a comprehensive review of peripheral artery occlusive disease, covering clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods, and treatment strategies. Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Review of the causes, symptoms, and principles of management of acute arterial insufficiency of the lower extremities.

  • Discuss the complications of  reperfusion of the ischemic leg, primarily compartment syndrome.

  • Discuss the features of embolic arterial occlusion as compared to occlusion due to atherosclerosis.
