This course covers the use of Doppler sonography for diagnosing non-atherosclerotic peripheral arterial pathologies. Learn how to detect arteriovenous fistulas, pseudoaneurysms, hematomas, and complications in dialysis access grafts. Ideal for healthcare professionals involved in vascular and trauma care.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • to describe an arterio-venous (A-V) fistula

  • to describe the typical waveform of a pseudoaneurysm

  • to discuss the ultrasound evaluation of dialysis access fistula or grafts

  • to discuss the differential diagnosis of palpable masses in close proximity to arteries

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
