Course Overview

Master the skills for performing Stereotactic and Tomosynthesis-guided breast biopsies. This course covers indications, procedures, and guidelines for both methods, including equipment, patient positioning, and techniques. Learn to identify and address challenges, optimize biopsy accuracy, and ensure patient safety and care for diagnostic efficiency.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • describe the breast stereotactic biopsy procedure and tomosynthesis guided biopsy, including the requirements and technique

  • list the procedures' indications and contraindications

  • apply the information acquired to their own breast biopsy practice

  • apply the information acquired to comply with breast biopsy lab accreditation


Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
