Course Overview

This course provides a comprehensive overview of breast imaging techniques, including mammography, ultrasound, and MRI. Topics include breast anatomy, cancer risk factors, screening, diagnostic mammography, and BIRADS classification. Learn key concepts for accurate diagnosis and reporting, including the latest advances in breast imaging.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Accurately Identify Breast Anatomy and Breast Structures

  • Analyze the anatomical breast knowledge to recognize normal vs abnormal breast tissue in breast imaging. 

  • Compare Breast Cancer Epidemiology and Key Risk Factors in the context of patient history and screening guidelines. 

  • Evaluate mammographic images and distinguish normal and abnormal findings in different types of mammograms. 

  • Using the Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) assessment categories, formulate a plan while evaluating the implications of each category for patient management and follow-up


Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
