Event Overview

Point of Care Imaging Institute holds in person musculoskeletal ultrasound seminars in the fall and spring of each year on different anatomic regions. This seminar focuses on ultrasound of the foot.

Objectives

  1. Recognize anatomical structures of the foot as shown in ultrasound images:

    • Objective: By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to recognize and name key anatomical structures of the foot from instructor-led ultrasound demonstrations with at least 80% accuracy.

  2. Describe the proper technique for ultrasound imaging of the foot:

    • Objective: Participants will describe the correct application of ultrasound probes and the adjustment of machine settings for optimal imaging of the foot, as demonstrated by instructors during lecture sessions.

  3. Interpret ultrasound images of the foot to identify common pathologies:

    • Objective: Upon completion of the seminar, learners will interpret ultrasound images presented in lectures to diagnose common foot conditions like plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, or tarsal tunnel syndrome, as shown in instructor-led demonstrations.
