Course Overview

The "Gallbladder Ultrasound Case Series" course is designed to enhance the diagnostic skills of healthcare professionals in identifying and interpreting various gallbladder pathologies through ultrasound imaging. This course offers a comprehensive exploration of conditions such as gangrenous, acalculous, and emphysematous cholecystitis, providing insights into their demographics, pathophysiology, risk factors, and clinical manifestations. Participants will also learn to recognize the sonographic features associated with these conditions, thereby improving diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Understand the demographics, pathophysiology, risk factors, and signs and symptoms of gangrenous, acalculous, and emphysematous cholecystitis.

  • Be able to recognize the sonographic findings of gangrenous, acalculous, and emphysematous cholecystitis.

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
