Case 2

A 62 YO male patient was referred for transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) after a cardiologist consultation. He complained of dyspnea during everyday activity. His history was remarkable for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) three years ago. The revascularization was not performed due to the patient refusal.

Figure 2-1 shows the patient’s electrocardiogram. Video 2-2 shows 4-chamber apical view. Video 2-3 shows 2-chamber apical view. Video 2-4 shows 3-chamber apical view. Video 2-5 shows parasternal long-axis view. Video 2-6 shows parasternal short-axis view. Video 2-7 shows 3D left ventricle ejection fraction (3D LV EF) calculation.

TTE revealed 3D LV EF – 33%, LV end-diastolic volume (LV EDV)- 205 ml, mild to moderate mitral regurgitation.
