Course Overview

Learn how to sonographically evaluate uterine leiomyomas and adenomyosis, including their types, locations, and sonographic features. Explore diagnostic techniques like color Doppler and MRI, and understand treatment options such as myomectomy, hysterectomy, and uterine artery embolization for optimal patient care.


Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Describe the spectrum of signs and symptoms of uterine leiomyomas.

  • Classify leiomyomas pre-operatively to allow the selection of the most appropriate operative technique.

  • Improve patient management through the use of transvaginal ultrasound to differentiate leiomyomas from adenomyosis.


Target Audience

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret obstetrical ultrasound.
