Course Overview

This course covers the principles of OB-GYN sonography, including the fundamentals of sonographic imaging, Doppler ultrasound, and common artifacts. Learn about the use of transducers, image generation, Doppler shift, and techniques for evaluating blood flow. Gain insights into 2D, 3D, and color Doppler applications in OB-GYN diagnostics.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the learner will:

  • Describe the primary components of sonographic imaging: ultrasound, transducers and instruments.

  • Explain how the Doppler Effect is applied in sonography.

  • Describe anatomic imaging formats and Doppler presentation forms.

  • Illustrate examples of artifacts.
