Course Overview

Ectopic pregnancy, occurring outside the uterine endometrium, is a medical emergency and a leading cause of first-trimester maternal death. Ultrasound and beta-hCG levels are key for diagnosis. Prompt recognition of varied locations like fallopian tubes, ovary, or cesarean scars ensures timely intervention.

Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Perform a complete exam to evaluate for an ectopic pregnancy 

  • Compare the common sonographic characteristics of ectopic pregnancies in various locations
