Course Overview

Learn how to effectively evaluate the endometrium using sonography in this comprehensive course. Gain in-depth knowledge of endometrial anatomy, including the functional and basal layers, and their changes throughout the menstrual cycle. Understand how to identify normal and abnormal endometrial thickness, measure the endometrial canal on transvaginal sonography, and differentiate between various pathologies, including adenomyosis, hyperplasia, carcinoma, and the effects of tamoxifen therapy. This course also covers endometrial conditions in both premenopausal and postmenopausal women, providing critical diagnostic insights for clinicians dealing with abnormal uterine bleeding. Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Perform a complete examination of the endometrium throughout the menstrual cycle 

  • Analyze the various sonographic causes of abnormal uterine bleeding

  • Compare the importance of age, hormone status, and tamoxifen on the appearance of and the interpretation ultrasound evaluation.
