Course Overview

This course covers ultrasound technologies, including coded excitation, harmonic imaging, 3D imaging acquisition, and panoramic/compound imaging. It also explains elastography techniques and compares 2D vs. 3D imaging for enhanced image quality.

Course Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will:

  • Explain how coded excitation works and how it is applied.

  • Describe how harmonic imaging improves image quality.

  • Explain how 3D images are acquired.

  • Compare 2D and 3D imaging technology.

  • Describe how panoramic imaging and compound imaging are accomplished.

  • List ways that compound imaging improves images.

  • Define elastography and describe how it is accomplished.

  • Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
