Course Overview
This course covers ultrasound technologies, including coded excitation, harmonic imaging, 3D imaging acquisition, and panoramic/compound imaging. It also explains elastography techniques and compares 2D vs. 3D imaging for enhanced image quality.
Course Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant will:
Explain how coded excitation works and how it is applied.
Describe how harmonic imaging improves image quality.
Explain how 3D images are acquired.
Compare 2D and 3D imaging technology.
Describe how panoramic imaging and compound imaging are accomplished.
List ways that compound imaging improves images.
Define elastography and describe how it is accomplished.
Target Audience
Physicians, sonographers, and others who perform and/or interpret ultrasound.
* AMA PRA Category 1 ™ credits are used by physicians and other groups like PAs and certain nurses. Category 1 credits are accepted by the ARDMS, CCI, ACCME, and Sonography Canada.
